960 Starts out in second gear

Was wondering if anyone has heard of this problem. I have a 1995 960. Have replaced the TCM, the 2 solenoids 3515643 and 1- 3515644 on the valve body. The blinking arrow and the flashing lights on the shift console have gone away. But the car starts out in second gear. Even if you shift it into 1st mechanically it still starts out in second. Shifts fine otherwise.

Your W button is selected push one of the other two buttons next to the gear shifter. A spilled soda really can cause these buttons not to select property or short between selections. Had it happen on my 960 and the buttons had to be replaced. June
