I have an '04 V70 with 205k miles on it. 2.5L low pressure T5 engine.
I recently flushed the transmission (AW55/50) with new Aisin fluid. I noticed this noise after that, but it may have been there before. I'm just not certain.
Car starts run and shifts fine and have taken 3 different 300mi trips since then with no issue other than the noise.
I hear a "rrrrrrr" noise at idle, regardless of what gear I'm in. Not loud, but you can clearly hear it inside the car. Under the hood, it kinda sounds like it's coming from the belt side of the engine bay.
A. It changes pitch, but not volume, with throttle.
B. Manually or auto shifting to different gears doesn't change it at all.
C. Once your going 20mph or so you can't hear it. Not sure if it goes away, the pitch is too high for me, or the road noise cancels it out.
D. I'm certain the trans has the right amount of fluid. It was carefully measured, then checked per Vida manual procedures 3 different times.
E. No leaks anywhere that I've seen.
F. Vida says alternator puts out 13.5v to 13.7v at idle
G. Power steering has fluid and works as it should.
Any ideas??
