Way too big, they will be rubbing everywhere. I tried 225/45/17 on my 850 and took them off pretty quickly. They rub on the outside driving through bumps and on the inside on sharp turns. That is the front wheels, the rear aren't the problem obviously.

I run 225/45/17's on my 2000 V70R AWD. Rear suspension is different. On FWD cars you need to check the rear wheels and tires clear the parking brake cable and that it is tied back to the trailing arm with its clip to maximise clearance.
On the front not sure why it would rub as AWD/FWD suspension is the same. I did have rubbing issues on my 850 but not the V70.
Best thing would to be to try fitting them and make sure they clear.
Neil.

They will rub at the back on the inner side when fully loaded.
At front will too unless you install spacers.
If you go with spacers you will need to roll down fenders.
205-50-17 will be ok and i'm pretty sure 215-45-17.
