Valve spring compressor

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive valve spring compressor for our heads? I'm looking to buy one.

I think most auto parts stores in the US offer loaner valve spring compressors for free. First place to look for cheap tools is harbor freight.

The standard valve spring compressors don't really have the reach to get the spring compressed and the keepers in and out. I've seen guys cut a slot in a short PCV pipe to act as a spacer to give the compressor more range and give you more room to manipulate the keepers.

Read through the post I cited, OP struggled with the "loaner tool" effort - which was a fail as they did not fit.
