Recently my step dad's car a 2007 S60 is getting the famous code P2111 Throttle Actuator and speed reduction message.
The car has 80K so we decided to just clean the throttle body, never been done before. I used the following steps:
1. Open hood, fan off, radio off
2. Open trunk and close the latch to put the light off and any module
3. wait 15 minutes with timer before removing the ground cable at battery, all modules out to be close
4. Proceeded to remove and clean throttle
5. Connect ground cable and car started fine.
Car run fine for 5 days no message or any codes, on the 6 day the code and message return as previously.
I read some where where it might be a good idea to remove the ECU and reset it. I bought the tool and went to local U-pull to practice the removal did this on 2 cars and knew it was hard but not bad.
I follow the same steps as above except that ECU removal was much, much harder than the one's at U-pull. I had to remove the ECU for the transmission too.
When I attempted to start the car it acted like the battery was low or the immobilizer got activated but not sure.
Do you notice any problems with what I did or any advice is welcome.
Need some advice on this!

That was crappy internet advice but probably no damage done. If cleaning it didn’t help solve permanently, look for a junkyard throttle body and try a cheap parts swap to diagnose

Mine had similar symptoms- was the throttle body.
You may want to order one because it may not recover next time. Mine did not.
Buying used from junk yard or Ebay is a good idea.
Buy a new gasket which goes between the intake and TB.
Be careful with the electrical plug going to the throttle body, heard they are easy to damage.
