2001 V70XC - no start - what would trip the engine light?

Well, been watching it since replacing the fuel filter (which rattled) and it seems to have been something loose in the fuel filter blocking the exit line or otherwise reducing the flow so pressure was insufficient when there was any noticeable draw on the fuel. Working just fine now.
