Hi,

I just had to replace mine a few months ago.
It is hard to replace with just one person doing it, but two people can do it.
One has to hold up the door, the other install the new struts.
Needed good screwdriver and slip jaw pliers.
You'll find some sites that say to use a long stick to hold the door open, but to get the old ones out and the new ones in sometimes you have to move the door around a little so a long stick and one person only does not work as well as two people.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

How long do the last though?

And, if a spring extends in a forest, does one sitting in a tree have to follow Hookes Law?

Mine lasted 11 years - the ones I pulled off had a production date sticker on it - 2003.

Also, if the spring in the tree knows two in the bush, and no one heard the bear defecate underneath it, then Hooke's law is cancelled. I thought that was common knowledge.

My original shocks lasted probably 15 years. I suffered with them not working well in the winter, then not working well all year, for two years. I replaced them last year with Stabilus and it was time and money well spent. When the new ones are installed, be sure not to whack yourself in the jaw when it opens surprisingly quickly.
