IT was cold and I think I had the window down and tried to roll it up. The back side of the driver's window kind of fell into the door while the front stayed up. Unfortunately I drove it once having forgot that I had a bad window after successfully getting it to stay up and sealed. Then it seems the best I got it up was within a 1/8 inch after fiddling way too much with it.. I am concerned that I bent the mechanism by messing with it too many times while driving one afternoon when I had forgotten and tried to power down the window. Then repeatedly I keep trying to get it back in place by holding it up while powering the window up. Either way I am not taking it to the dealer.
I just fixed (thanks Matthew's Volvos!) the Passenger side PDM for 13 bucks by replacing the switch yeah! But now I have to try and fix the driver's side window. I guess I will order some sliders and then take it apart and find a tutorial ideally. Thanks for your time...
I think I need to replace window slider driver's side.

Don't play with the glass for now. I did that and cracked my glass! Had to run to junk yard to get another glass for $20.
Each front window requires 2 clips. Buy the blue clips at dealer for $6/each.

Just did both on my new 03 xc70 and it can be done. I learned this. Bending those arms back is easy as they are thick sheet metal.I have to bend one bar a little more as it doesn't go quite all the way down. I couldn't get a tool between those slider and it's connection to get any decent prying. My sliders looked like poodle chew toys. (Colorado Car) and didn't want to ephing come off. Cussing swearing and perseverance. Had 3 three sizes of channel locks ... used two. Sliders looked even worse once removed. There's a need for someone to help hold up the window or figure out how to wedge or tape. For a while I honestly thought it was bent vertically somehow and it wasn't going to go back in. Maybe it doesn't matter but for me front first helped for me after I had to undo back to get both on. Plan for hand hygiene in between touching liberally applied slide grease and anything else.
Done
passenger side headlight. (moving computer doesn't give you more room)
brake light module
4 window sliders
Left to do
voltage regulator over voltage
horn
inspection sticker
oil
skylight drain
partial transmission fluid
timing belt
figure out cool lines for when I hand them the "car phone"

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like you have been busy Kraig. I think you re taking about bending the arms without actually taking out the regulator? That what all the fuss was about?

Chances are it is the infamous Blue Clips.
In the FCP Video below, at time marking 4:15, you can see the channel-lock pliers trick.
I find it easier if you install the metal clip HALF-WAY ahead of time, once you have done the channel-lock pliers trick, just push the metal clip further in and you are all set.
