When I accelerate there's a rumbling noise from front left corner and when going over wavy parts in the road it's worse but going over the same wavey parts (coasting) at same speed but with the clutch down, there's no rumbling!
It's not wheel bearing and the engine mounts don't seem to have split. It's a 92 940 gle not turbo.
Any suggestions as to what it could be?

Really need some more info.
Stomp on brake while stopped and then hit gas while drive selected. Can you duplicate noise?
If not, accelerate from a full stop. What speed does noise start? If you accelerate from 0 to 60mph, does noise occur during full acceleration.

Dj, it's manual but with handbrake up and front wheels chocked I could give it gas and let clutch up, I can see where you're going with this- as the engine twists it will lift the engine mount? I'll give it a go as I've only tried pushing the engine over by hand to see if it's split.
I will give you're idea a go too. There's a strap on the mount too so I'd think the sound would be traveling through that if the rubber is split.
