05 S60 2.5T ABS

It’s been awhile since I’ve been on this site since I lost my 01 S80 two years ago. I have had this current 05 S60 for about 9 years and still like it but it’s not my daily ride. I’m lucky if I put 2,000 miles per year.
I’ve taken another interest in this car and wanted to tackle the ABS issue. In the past I replaced the ‘cold’ power assist vacuum with the motor and valve but that lasted just a few years. I’ve adapted to reving the engine until vacuum is optimized for braking. But for the past three years the ABS light is on. Funny is that for some trips the light goes off. When it is off the light comes on what seems to me is a turn to the left whether at an intersection or speeding around a turn.
I replaced the ABS on my 01 S80 and I am willing to do so on this S60 but I’m not convinced it’s the ABS Module.
I’m looking for guidance on this one. Thanks in advance

I don't know about the module, but how about an abs sensor ? The wire can easily stretch if pulled near the wheel and get damaged and be intermittent. A used sensor is just fine.

When the light comes on , read the codes to focus attention down on the failure spot. You can spend hours replacing parts on a complex system like the ABS

Thanks for these quick replies. I’ll have to hook up my DICE. That maybe another issue as the last time I tried to run it I was getting connection errors on the laptop. Ugh

I got the DICE to function and here are the errors
BCM 0070. Pump motor supply voltage faulty signal

BCM 0072. Pump motor mechanical error.

Do I replace the motor? I check the fuses- no issues there.

I ended up replacing the pump motor with a used one. Preliminary results are good. The numbers don’t match but I didn’t see any difference with the motor. It took about 45 minutes to complete thanks to the detail instructions left by a fellow member.

I'm battling the ABS light and "Anti-Skid requires service" warning.
OBD2 said driver rear ABS sensor.
I replaced that what a PITA. Snaking the taped new wire from the wheel to the under seat connector.
After all that. Still "Anti-Skid" warning light returned.
I went to Indy mech and he pulled the wheel and say the PLASTIC tone ring was craked in several places and missing teeth.
So I just bought at used rear CV joint because you cant just replace the reluctant ring like the front. UGGGGH!
