I managed to break the plastic connector in the fuel hose at the fuel filter (coming from the pump). Although a (barely) adequate splice can be made in the fuel hose to the filter using a Dorman fitting, I've decided to attempt to replace the fuel line from the pump to the filter with a OEM hose.
In order to do this I believe it will be necessary to drop the fuel tank about 2" in the front. I've used my best searching skills but haven't found very much relevant info.
Any help would be appreciated.

Dropping the tank is a project and a half.
Copy that! But I tried to snake some fuel line from the tank and can't seem to get it through. If dropping the tank isn't feasible then my 'option Z' will be to firmly splice the new line to old and attempt to pull it through. BUT... the new fuel line's OD is quite a bit larger than the OEM and I'm not optimistic it will pull through.Id attach new hose to the old and pull it into place.

All that being said, my strong preference is to drop the tank enough to use the OEM fuel line.

I think Neil dropped the tank on his P2 for similar shenanigans; give him a chance to chime in.

Support the tank with a piece of carpet and plywood and floor jack.
Lower the tank just a bit, just enough to snake the new hose in.

Do you have to empty the tank to avoid spileage of gas when adding the fuel line (or does that go in the top)? Where would you put it if it is more than a few gallons?
I imagine a full tank would be quite heavy, but I have raised the whole car on a jack so maybe this is not a big deal.

About 100 pounds for the fuel , so no trouble for a jack.
