Installed and upgraded to a trip computer! 37 bucks off Ebay. Only wish I had bought new bulbs to replace everything in the cluster.

Drove home from Disney world. She drove like a dream! After 13 hours in The Magic Kingdom all that extra care Volvo's designers put in to those marvelous seats was truly appreciated! Not to mention the smooth as glass quiet ride. Year after year my love for my S80 grows! She buzzed me home safely with the cruise set at 90 mph without any labor to the engine. Not bad for a 15 year old car with 176K miles. It was nice seeing my daughter, sister, and niece.
My daughter got her C70 back from the shop just in the nick of time to get to meet us at Disney. A hose blew a couple of weeks ago and the ding-a-ling decided to drive it like that and blew the head gasket.

Today I need to fill up on oil. Not much, around 350 ml. I also did the glove test (I do that every once in a while) and I noticed that the latex glove inflated when I cranked the engine, so I have to do some PCV maintenance. Funny thing is, a couple of months ago the glove nearly got sucked into the engine. What's your advice on this? Change all the parts/hoses/etc? I know IPD sells good parts and YouTube has some really good tutorials on servicing the PCV system, so I'll manage.

Cursed myself for buying a rolling project car as a daily...
Changed spark plugs today (reasonable deal on genuine put them at the same price as NGK PFR6Bs, which is what the car had in it) but one must have had a hairline crack in as it sheared off before even being hand tight... Removal of the broken half was fun. Had to reinstall one of the old plugs, which were properly shot, and now have a misfire as a result. Volvo can't get new plugs until Mon afternoon, which is problematic as I need to get to a conference 80miles away on Monday.
I also discovered I have a leaking heater core (only started leaking yesterday), so now have that to replace too. Already have aluminium pipes thankfully so just need to swap the core itself out.
God I hate public transport.

Well, I don't know how the public transportation system is in Wales, but here in the Netherlands we have some of the best public transportation systems in the world. And the most expensive, jeesh. And I still don't like using it haha
Also, this happended today:

Wowsers. Bet you both needed changes of clothes...
Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

Got the new spark plug, fitted it, rechecked torque setings on all plugs, and I still have the misfire. I presume leads are the next stop before checking the coil? Rotor arm and dizzy are less than 8 months old, genuine parts used for both.Cookeh wrote: ↑16 Feb 2019, 09:30 Cursed myself for buying a rolling project car as a daily...
