I need to replace the oil in the rear differential of the 2002 V70 X/C. I know I did this 5 years ago, when it was my kids car, but I can't seem to locate the drain and fill plugs- my memory is not improving... I just do not want to pullout an incorrect bolt. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. I have located the front angle gear all ready and just want to check/change the rear differential oil also.
While on the subject of old X/C models, I keep hearing that they are never serviced and are all broken. I found a beautiful, garaged and well loved V70 X/C! Looks like a 'Detail Oriented' Person like myself owned it. What are service procedures for the all wheel drive system. This is primitive and does not seem to have a Haldex unit on it.

I couldn't find a thread discussing the rear final drive gear drain plug so I started this thread last week:

It faces the rear of the wagon. You'll need an extension and wobble joint attached to a 13mm socket.
