Uh oh... I don't recall this ticking noise before I went hog wild on replacing motor mounts, pcv, starter, etc...

Any thoughts on what this is? It certainly doesn't sound too good.
Ticking noise...

Does sound like a lifter, but lots of things can make ticking noises. Pumps and rollers and tensioners and whatnot.
To start, use a stethoscope if you have one, or take a length of vacuum hose, and locate where the sound is coming from.

Well, I think I spoke too soon... Sound went away after a couple minutes of running and now it's dead quiet.
I had SOMEWHAT isolated it to the back side of the engine, near the turbo, but that's not very helpful...
No clue as to what would have caused that.

When was the last time (if at all) your oil pan/pick-up tube o-rings were replaced?

Your lifters just drained down while you were carefully building your engine back up. It can take 30-60 minutes for lifters to pump back up fully. No worries
My rescue S70 took a couple of hours of running to smooth out and untick at idle.
No damage, no worries. Just let it idle and drive it slowly on local roads until the lifters get pumped back up..
