M66 tranny in 2001 v70 t5

I just bought this 2001 v70 t5 fwd knowing it had tranny issue. The coolent has tranny fluid in it....inner cooler.... The car will not engage in any gears and will not move....The (!) Light is on. My thoughts where that I could buy a rebuild kit and rebuild it......but not haveing any luck. As I do more research there is no rebuild kit I can get.....is this still true???? All the othere post wher from many years ago.... Another question is do I need to replace or is there a fix to this... Also in some research I seen something about putting a diiferent model tranny in it....dose anyone have knowledge on if this can be done and what model tranny will fit and work? (Something about a tranny from a xc70) is what the very brief post had mentioned. Thanks ahead of time.....

The M66 manual transmission fluid has no connection to the cooling system, so Im confused there.

It sounds like you have bought a 2001 with an AT that is failed. Read the special thread on 2001 up top first.

A good used AT will be about $500 plus labor to put in.

I know I can get used one..I will install myself...I have rebuilt a cpl Domestic transmissions in past.....just new to Volvod

Is there a rebuild kit?

Will only the m66 work? Im sure its the only option just not positive.

After installing new tranny can I use vida dice tool to do all downloads and reboots needed?

Also need to know where the best place to order vida dice...Iv seen many different prices and sellers. Any recommendations?
