Only 1 Key - 03 S80 T6

I was wondering what is the least expensive route to have another key made for a 2003 S80 T6. Car came with 1 key and 1 functioning remote although I'm OK with just the 1 remote. Thanks.

Shop around your local locksmiths and automotive service centers. See who will give you the best deal. The blade will need to be cut and the security system will need to be programed to accept the new key's chip.

If you really want cheap. Some guy dig the chip out of the programed key and tape the chip near the antenna ring. Then have a locksmith cut some keys without chips. This way the security will always hear the programed key and any key that can turn the lock will work. Of course if you screw up the chip digging it out ... your screwed.

My son does not want me to do that one. He thinks and I also that the security system will not be on if the chip is next to the Antenna Ring? Not sure I want to take the risk of cutting it out and damaging or having no alarm system. Thanks.

That is settled. You don't really want the cheapest solution.
