CRAP!
My dughters 98 S70 GLT non-turbo has been acting strange. Just recently this started, the last two mornings and afternoons when the engine is cold, at slow speeds, the gas pedal will suddenly become difficult to press. The engine begins to run rough and stalled once or twice. In addition, the Winter-mode arrow lights up. Today, it lit up while this was happening, then went out. She depressed the pedal and it immediately happened again. This happened two or three times then stalled. She said that if it doesnt stall, the only way to get it to run properly is to shift to park, shut down and restart.
Got any ideas?

Yes, but probably unrelated, I scaned with a generic code reader (old key for foreign cars) stated " mass air flow leak" Cleared the code and it came back. I can't find any vacuum lines cut or loose. All hoses and ducts intact. I assume it is the air flow sensor. Time and money restrict my endevors right now. But time and luck my run out on me and force me to entertain the dealer for help.

Try cleaning it with contact cleaner (actually they sell a MAF sensor cleaner)...just don't touch the sensor itself. Spray it and let it dry on its own. If that doesn't get it, you're probably in for a new one.

Why would anyone think that because you just clear a code a problem will just go away???gtaylor36 wrote:Yes, but probably unrelated, I scaned with a generic code reader (old key for foreign cars) stated " mass air flow leak" Cleared the code and it came back. JRL,
A Better Question... Why would anyone think that was why I cleared the code???
Anyone with enough sense to operate a code reader would know that would not clear the problem. My reason was logical. I just purchased the car and was trying to see if that code was from a past problem but never cleared from the OBDC unit after repairs were made.
You mentioned a transmission post for me to read below. I did not see a post. Can you re-attach.
Thanks
