Hi,
Out of the blue I got this message, there are no oil leaks under my car (XC70 AWD '05).
I have VIDA/DICE and get the ECM-611B and ECM-439C errors which to me, confirms the oil pressure issue as well as the detection pump.
I use Castrol Edge Synthetic 5W/30 and I only did 8000 Km this year, I change the oil once a year.
Is there a way to see the oil pressure through VIDA?
Where do you recommend to start with in order to identify the root cause of the problem?
Thank you,
Alex

Sorry to hear you have error codes.
Since you didn't mention it, I'd start with something simple. Did you check the oil level on the dipstick? If the oil line is not near full, you could have low oil pressure do to lack of oil (even w/o indication of a leak).
I'm sorry I can't offer advice on VIDA since I do not have it. I'm sure the experts will respond concerning VIDA.

Did you look up the exact meaning of both ECM-611B and ECM-439C ?
Does "detectior pump" mean "detector switch" ? That'd be your oil pressure sensor.
The oil pressure sensor (a commonly replaced, inexpensive part) may be all that's faulty.

As above look first at the sensor - on the front of the engine block, hidden by the intake manifold
Have you switched recently to synthetic? If it run on mineral before, synthetic may cause quick oil consumption and filter clogging. May inspect the oil level weekly and replace the filter after some 500-1000km - without flushing the oil

Oil pressure sensor is on/off only, can't watch oil pressure in VIDA. I would check oil pressure with the gauge first, there's a port at the front of the engine. Oil pressure switch/sensor dies sometime too. Oil pump may have a weak spring, too. But first check the real pressure.

Just to mention, while as above there are a few checks to do, it is wise not to run the engine until everything is clear. For peace of mind. If the engine oil does indeed lack pressure, it takes less than minutes to ruin the bearings, even at idle

Hi All,
Thank you for your feedback.
To answer some of your questions, yes there is oil in the motor and no I did not switch to synthetics recently, I have always used the same oil.
The ECM-439C error is related to the evaporative system, the Leak Detection Pump so it has nothing to do with the oil pressure.
The ECM-611B is the camshaft control intake faulty error and that can be triggered if there is low oil pressure. So if the root cause of the low oil pressure is resolved, that error should go.
Some of you suggested to check the oil pressure with a gauge, but I do not have one and I do not know which one I would need, where to find it and finally if it is expensive.
Any suggestion is really appreciated on this topic.
Last point, the engine is noisier now, it sounds like a diesel...well, maybe not as noisy but you know what I mean.
Thank you!
Alex

You mean like https://www.amazon.com/ABN-Engine-Press ... PXFMM4V4GW ?
I need to be sure those universal kits fit my car, so I need to know the exact fitting size.
I hope to find that information somewhere in VIDA, unless you know it already.
Thank you,
Alex
