Speedo/ tach are working , dim display is working. 😀
I cannot reset the service reminder and the dim does not respond in VIDA. Showing red in network tab and cannot be accessed. First picture in the post.
Thanks for all the suggestions, will connect to Vida tonight and report back.

Checked the DTC with VIDA; one more code showed up BCM-0100. This appeared after driving 50 miles. I have attached both screen shots and DIM still not responding.
I went through the maintenance records and learned that the BCM has been replaced. PO stated that ABS light was on.
While I was driving to monitor transmission oil temperature and topping of the transmission, I was able to reset the service minder with VIDA! Problem solved for now.

With as many communication problems as you got. I would pull the CEM, clean and check the connectors. Look for Damaged CAN bus cables as you go.

I don't think I've ever seen so many modules off the Network yet so few fault codes.

This IS an odd one. Canbus is the biggest suspect here. It wouldn't hurt to use a test lamp of at least 20W (don't use a multimeter as this doesn't draw enough current) to check for voltage at fuses.

Thanks much for all the advice.
I am a bit overwhelmed with all the work needed to be done to the car We have just moved and have to divide my attention.

I was able to work on it last Sunday. Cleaned the battery post and removed ecm and tcm and cleaned the contacts. They looked ok, no visable corrosion. Removed the air let tube to be able to monitor if the thermostat is working, per advise.

Hooked up Vida and put it in shift indicator mode and went for a test ride.
After I stopped to check the transmission fluid level I drove off and it went into limp mode. Restarted the car and transmission service light and check engine light came on. I was able to clear the codes and did another reset adaption.
Drove home and when home Vida did no longer connect with the car.

I was able to verify that it is harsh shifting from 3-2 and slightly from 2-3 but that’s another topic.

Still have the same dtc’s and will report back when I have chance to pull the ecm and test power at the fuses. In the meantime I continue to work on the tune up and transmission drain and fill or flush. I continue to use it as my daily driver until it is safe and reliable for my son to drive.
Thanks for all the advice.

Last Saturday I was able to test power at the fuse locations of the CEM. I have used a test light and replaced the bulb with a 5W festoon type bulb.
Almost all fuses do get power. I have attached a marked-up picture of the fuse box layout. This matches with my expectations, all the modules are in working order. Expect for the vacuum pump. Fuse was burned and pump shorted, just makes a clicking sound when hooked up to 12V.
One observation which I have double checked on both V70’s when connecting Vida/dice I do not get any longer a voltage reading/ disconnect. Please refer to the first picture. Dice tests OK.

Just an update; after replacing the front brakes, replacing the pcv system, vacuum pump, vacuum switch, blower motor resistor, engine oil and another drain and fill of the transmission with half a bottle of transtune. The car is running ok. So far we have put on 2100 miles on car.
Checked the DTC’s yesterday and none found and all modules are online.👍

VVT is working again it was hesitating at 3000rpm and would reluctantly rev up. The synthetic oil cleans out the engine pretty good and solved the associated DTC’s.
Transmission shifts much better if needed I will replacing the shift solenoids in the future.

Does anyone know the TBS for sealing the CEM? I would like prevent water egress.

May as well check the connector behind the DIM

For the CEM, if I'm not wrong, I think the water ingress happened from a harness gasket passing outside the firewall above the CEM, somewhere under the windshield cowl. Maybe lifting the cowl (the wiper arm is hard to remove) and look underneath to clean and seal a little around. The CEM on these 04-up (a different design than the 01-03) is quite tricky to remove from under the dash, those connectors are tricky, plus that bracket has to rotate somehow, anyway here's a video, the rotation thing is at 3:18

.
