Unfortunately, blew it up, again! I had the car perfectly ready for Carlisle this year and my torque converter seal blew (5k after replacing the engine)... Took it to Swedish Imports and they diagnosed it as a bad axle seal. $260 later it was still peeing fluid on the ground and the flashing arrow of doom lit up alongside the check engine light. I moved it 20 feet and it peed out a quart of fluid on Saturday. Devastated, we cleaned up the S40 and took it to Carlisle- where I picked up a 120k mile M56H swap kit. Though I have a spare automatic in the garage, I figure do it once and do it right- manual transmisison. Still trying and failing to source a flywheel, I've already purchased a clutch kit and hundreds of dollars worth of other stuff. I question why I keep this thing alive still...Justin gave up on it years ago

I really wish I would have known about Volvos at Carlisle. I was in the area that weekend with my T5M and only about an hour drive away. Kind of sad I was so close and missed it (though I'm sure my wallet is glad I wasn't there).

Changed the oil on the XC90 yesterday. Turns out it was a little over a quart low... which would explain the low oil level message. It's weird, the dipstick appeared full, but I'm glad to know it doesn't need a $225 oil level sender! No low oil notification so far, so I'd consider it fixed.
Pulled the dash pad from the R and pulled the cluster. Also ran the boost gauge vacuum hose and wiring for the boost gauge back light through the driver side air vent so I can mount my gauge in the vent for easier visibility. I'll post pics once it's all together!

M56 is definitely the right way to go! I saw your post on FB about the flywheel... I'll keep my eye out for you.

I feel the same way about my R... I'm hoping a new cluster will fix all of the CAN bus issues that seem to be constantly appearing. I'm almost ready to just pull the turbo to investigate my low boost condition further.
Maybe I'll swap out that VVT hub today to finally stop that awful grinding every time I start the car!

Wow... 0.041" is a lot! Definitely time for new plugs!
I thought mine were bad. They said Volvo on them so questioned were originals at 198k .036

Drove the T5 today into the mountains for a hike. Got back to the car just as thunderstorms were approaching. Turned the key on, fuel pump buzzed, turned to start and.... nothing but a click from the relay. Fortunately I was parked facing downhill, so I just bumped started it (pros of having a manual). When I got home, starter started functioning normally again. Will have to check the wiring tomorrow.

Also met an interesting fellow who specializes in antique car restoration. He has a 1978 Volvo 240 turbo. He told me if I can get it driveable, then I can have it. Apparently it runs but doesn't have enough power to move itself (sounds like a 240).

Also may have found a potential parts car in Canada for my AWD, a 99 S70 AWD with one big goodie attached.

You should grab that 240 and send it down to me to take care of it

I've actually got my eye on a cheap '99 S70 AWD right now. I'm hoping it sticks around a little longer so I can go grab it!

Yeah... I also bought a "cheap" V70R a little over a year ago

I'll take this hot dry weather over tornadoes, that's for sure! It's awful, but it could always be worse!
