Bosch #0 123 505 014 Alternator Parasitic Draw

Good evening all, long shot- I have the alternator listed in the topic, Bosch #0 123 505 014

I've been chasing an almost 4A parasitic draw. I recently replaced the voltage regulator trying to track some weirdness with my ABS module and speedo that started manifesting during a 1500 mile drive in some heavy heat. Charging has been good (and wasn't too bad on the old voltage regulator, but it was time after looking at the brushings).

In hindsight, I should have checked the alternator for the draw first. I did the normal battery, charging & voltage drop testing and all came in within spec, so I ended up checking every fuse and relay. When I finally got o disconnecting the alternator, the "key off" draw fell from 3.86A to 20mA.

The question- does anyone know of a source for the diode stack to replace in the alternator?

Dyn

Take your alternator to a good electrical shop and have them rework it unless you are really tight for bread.

Get a used one off eBay if you need to run the car, you can also run without for a few days if you’re battery is good and you can charge it overnight

Take off the serp belt and run without alternator, PS, or AC.

Too funny. Does the BBV include the core strength from leaning over the open engine bay? 'cause all I feel is a sore back.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I've found a lightly used AL 0752X locally while I track a local shop.

Marking it solved.
