OBDII 0236

Post by koley5 »

Hello - I'm driving a 2001 XC70 with 190,000 miles. For the past week, I've been getting a check engine light with code 0236 and sometimes 0237 also. I replaced the Boost Pressure Solenoid from FCPEuro, although I changed the identical part out only 2 years or so ago. Anyways, I'm still getting periodic check engine lights with 0236 code. Car shudders and almost fails on startup and then settles down. Car runs pretty decently at speed. I checked the MAF sensor (by unplugging it as the car was idling. The car immediately died.) Up until a week ago, it always started like a champ - bang, right now. But this shudder and almost dying on startup is puzzling me. Any ideas? The Boost Pressure Valve seems to be connected properly.

Hey K5... 236-237 indicate a boost pressure sensor circuit A.. I'd go to the junkyard and swap it out and clear the code... If you're able. MDK
