Any thoughts on whether this is something that might be worth reviving? Have not dealt with those issues before.

You really need to go look at the car. Main items to look at are the body, tires and engine fluids.
If all these check out and the car looks to be in good repair figure the following: One or both turbos are bad - figure $230 for two turbo rebuild kits. Figure the fuel pump is bad - I think these are around $150.00. These are worse case scenarios and assumes fuel pump and turbos only.
Now the turbos could be good and the gasket may be leaking - you can make these gaskets with gasket material or order up two new seals. Figure $10. For the possible fuel pump relay - you can pull one off a junked car - figure $3.
If both of the turbos are bad at 150k figure the car was not serviced very well. Usually bank 2 is the one that goes bad - mine at about 150k was passing oil, but not smoking. Bank 1 was fine. You can pull off the plastic piping and look at the aluminum runners for excess oil. Usually there is a little - and the turbos will not smoke. Oil in the runners means the oil is passing the turbo oil ring (seal) - the worse it is the more it will smoke.
Rebuilding the turbos is not bad - pulling the turbo cartridge is not that bad a job either. Note - Volvo does not sell only the turbo cartridge - they sell the entire assembly with exhaust manifold at about $1200 per side. Like mentioned above you can rebuild just the turbos for anywhere from $30-120 a kit (one kit per side) - quality is generally price dependent.
Were I to go look at it, I would look up the fuel pump relay part number and location. See if one of your current Volvos has the same one and borrow it for testing. Bring your best jumper cables, swap out the relay and see what happens. If you get no fuel then it is the fuel pump. Knock off $200.00
If the car is in nice condition - for a few hundred bucks it would make a nice ride.
Final item - the transmission on that car has issues, but in the S80 much less than in the XC90.
