Transmission (2002, s60)

I bought a 2002 s60 today.

I drove it home from the dealership and noticed that 4-5 seconds after the car is stopped at a light, the car lurches forward unexplainably.

This happened 3 times. Upon the 3rd time the check engine light turned on indicating i need to service my transmission soon.

I am guessing this is a problem many have experienced?

Pretty disappointed this happened on my 2hr ride home from the dealership.

Anyone had a similar experience?

Bring it back Monday, hope you have a warranty with it
Call them at 8:00 in the morning and if they balk at a new transmission, stop the check if you can and fight it out as if an AW-55 tranny throws a tranny service light, it's probably history already
Hopefully you do have a warranty and this will be unnecessary

dealer recommended a software update. (200 US$).

Hopefully this is all it is! Dealer described it as a "classic software problem"

we shall see.

He described it correctly. Let's hope this takes care of it. Now why didn't they do the upgrade (all upgrades) before it left the lot?
