The gray fuel system relay under the cowl, or its wiring and/or connector, can be problematic. I like to swap parts abscate likes to troubleshoot - would inspect the wiring and swap the relay.

Oops you are correct I should not have written "cowl" there: not the fuel pump relay under the cowl by the windshield, but rather the gray fuel system relay under the shroud at the radiator.

Since he chose the path of the Church of Diagnosis or COD he has learned to fish instead of just Changing Again Still Toying with it, or just CASTing

Good luck and let us know what solves it, finally

didnt have a lot of time this am, but a couple things are confirmed:

I checked one injector for 12v at the plug, it did have power with key in position 2, so they’re getting juice (yes i should/will check the other 4 as well)

I pulled the gray relay from the parts car and swapped it in.... still crank but no start

Im going to swap all 5 injectors from parts car next

Thats all for today, got a softball game after work this evening so the 850 sits another day

There is no way all five injectors will go bad at once. Check the harnesses for signs of distress, follow them all the way to the ECU, then with key off, remove and replace the ECU to see if you can make better connections with the pins.

Have you jumped the fuel pump relay? It is possible for them to give enough voltage for fuel pressure then kick out when trying to supply fuel volume. Hard to diagnose except by jumping or swapping..

Hey......

I think the idea here is to just know that none of them are bad, not that they all need changing. You just don't understand CASTing ...

so small update here. i swapped the fuel rail+regulator from the parts car in to 'my' car for grins, still no change. also i ordered a new fuel pump relay a few days ago, swapped the new FP relay in this morning but still car doesn't run. although, I did keep my rebuilt injectors in my car. maaaaaybe the rebuilt injectors are all crap? will swap in the old injectors from the parts car this afternoon JUST to rule out the possibility of a bad rebuild job on the injectors, this is an easy check. (but the injector shop gave me a before/after printout that all injectors were flowing much better and spray pattern was improved...)

I also checked the wiring loom from the injectors to where they go into the plastic covering on the driver side beneath the airbox, all looks visually well. I popped open the ECU/TCU box to inspect.... pulled back the ZIF lever but didn't really pry off the ECU as it was very tight and didn't look to be disturbed, so i put the ZIF lever back in place and left it alone

getting perplexed why this thing wont run....
