01 S60 2.4T Sparkplug questions

Post by doughnut1122 »

Hi everyone today I got a 2001 Volvo S60 2.4T with 170k on it, and it has a bad misfire but the people before me definitely didn't take care of it so I'm hoping that it's just bad spark plugs so anyway I'm going to try to change them out tomorrow I was wondering which plugs would be best and what is the gap size for the plugs? Thanks for the advice guys.

Welcome to the forum...

You'll get lots of different answers to this question, but here is my opinion/experience. In 18+ years of owning my V70, I've always used Volvo OEM plugs and never had an issue. Cost a little more but problem free, so worth it to me. They should come pre-gapped.

Don't forget the anti-seize compound for the threads.

Just a hint, if new plugs don't fix it, check grounding of the coils and wiring loom to the coils.

Don't drive it like this or it may damage the catalytic convertor. At very least disconnect the injector on that cylinder www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnYUQh23p7Q

May want to double check https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... 71#fitment
