I reconnected and resealed my mysterious nokia/bmw bandpass box or whatever it is that i have. Patched up some holes i accidentally did when i Dremeled the crap out of it to make the 6.5s fit. Used jb weld plastic putty. Silicone and window sill foam tape has now made it airtight. I have really no clue what its gonna sound like. One internal 3" port leads air out to two 3" ports in the rear shelf. I parallel coupled the speakers so input imp is now 2ohm. At that imp my amp gives 150w. Like i said, no idea what the heck this will sound like.

Replaced pwr steering pump and serpentine belt.first timer.thou i must have uncovered other issues.oops.99 v70 wont die (completely)

Pick a part yard near me finally got an 850 in so I went pickin’ over the weekend!

Got a nice set of gray carpet and parts to fix the cruise control (module and vacuum pump). While I had the seats out of my ‘96 850 GLT to replace the carpet I redid the headliner too. Gray carpet actually looks really good even though the original was beige. Ties in nice with the black in the dash. Cruise now works when I lift up on the brake pedal. Had nothing before. Tried adjusting the brake switch but still have the same issue. Going to head back this weekend and pull that switch also.

Put a lot of work into this car over the last year and a half I’ve owned it but it has been one of the easiest cars I’ve ever worked on. Been a joy to bring her back to life after being neglected for years before I got her. Luckily she was low miles at around 55,000. Now she has 63,000 and climbing.

Wow, sounds like you found a gem there with that low mileage. Hopefully the timing belt was replaced for age.

No idea yet. Its going really slow this stereo build. Yesterday i modified a tweeter bracket... it takes time...

Timing belt was one of the first projects completed when I brought her home.

She spent about 3 months on jack stands in the garage while I made her road worthy. Front axles, control arms, end links had to be replaced. Along with all rotors, calipers and pads the whole way around. PnP switch, heater core, blower motor resistor, thermostat, oil cap, upper torque mount, and front seat belts. Then before she came off the jacks I did a full tune up. Plugs, wires, distributor cap/rotor, timing belt, tensioner, water pump and serpentine belt. Also found a nice set of gently used tires.
Since then, I’ve slowly been fixing the odds and ends trying to have everything functioning again. Headlight wipers, air conditioning, interior bulbs and switches, swapped the base stereo cassette for the SC-816 in black with the amplifier, replaced door handle cubbies, added the trip computer, glued down the wrinkles in the door panels, found one of those clear plastic windshield clips to replace the broken one and now the carpet and headliner. I’m sure I’m forgetting a few things...
Anyway, currently working on the cruise control and next will be adding the keyless entry. So basically I probably have more money in this car than she’s worth being a GLT but with my daughter driving now I wanted something reliable, durable and safe. Many thanks to this forum and Robert’s YouTube videos for guiding me through a lot of the repairs above!

* edited for adding repairs I missed when first posting. Cruise control is now fully functioning! It was the cruise cut off switch right above the brake switch that needed adjusted. Didn’t see it when I first wedge myself under the dash.

I was the first person in over 20 years to get the trip computer activated at the dealership.
They charged 1/2 hr and ‘tester’ fee - total was probably 10% of cars entire value.
But a fabulous thing to fool with when highway driving... 35.6mpg over 300 mile test drive
