The 122 is all English / SAE threads?

Post by BlackBart » Mon Oct 07, 2019 9:09 pm

It is just occurring to me that the 122 is all English threads. If I get one, that means I'll have to duplicate a lot of tools in the box - mostly combination wrenches, sockets etc. Never thought of that. The handful of English tools in the drawers are from high school I think! Montgomery Ward!

Spanners! Anti-clockwise! Guvner! Bits and bobs! Bugger!
As long as there's nothing Lucas, I'll probably be OK.

Somewhere I read the B20 block went to metric in about 1974.

Is it time for a 1964 122 wagon?

My 1975 245 has most engine (B21) parts SAE and other parts metric. Interesting to work on that way. I've had SAE wrenches for US built vehicles since 1974. I must have gotten old somehow.

It could be worse. There was an era that Saab used British,Whitworth, and metricfittings on the same car.

You can google Whitworth I think.
