2010 transmission
I'm looking at a 2010 XC70 to purchase. It has 120K miles, runs out very well. My only hesitation is that there is a tranny whine, intermittent, changes with RPM and/or load. Cleared the power steering pump as cause of noise. Carfax history negative for tranny issues. I'm aware of the "no fluid change" with this tranny. Have drained and refilled my 1999 xc70 trans every other oil change. Is there a drain plug on this years transmission? Should I even consider this car? or run for my life??

I'm no expert but I'd be concerned about that too, especially if it wasn't shifting properly. I'm really responding because I can answer your specific question. We just bought a 2010 XC70 and I had the guy put it up on the lift to check it out. I had the mechanic show me the two-part trans drain plug under the big splash guard panel. Further, check out this video for a pretty good look what's involved in a (partial) fluid change.
