09 S80 Brakes
Just did the rear brakes. Has the EBM, wasn’t too bad. Previous threads show really well how to by pass the electric brake. I used blue Loctite on all bolts but the caliper bolt, which I used orange, they say orange holds like red but can be removed easier. I cranked down on the caliper bolts as much as I could. Should I be concerned at all with bolts coming loose?

I actually use a thin film of anti-seize on the majority of those bolts so they don't oxidize. If you use the factory torque they should never come loose. Didn't know factory called for Loctite?vbertone wrote: ↑10 Nov 2019, 16:18 Just did the rear brakes. Has the EBM, wasn’t too bad. Previous threads show really well how to by pass the electric brake. Thank you, I have found so many different torque specs I didn’t know which to go with. So I went with 80 on the heavy caliper bolts, which is as high as my torque wrench would go. Guess I will call the dealership and see if they can tell me for sure.

Just called the dealer and they show 110 ft lbs. but said they don’t show an s80 specific. How does a Volvo dealer not show that? Not sure how I would get to that amount in a garage on a floor jack. Any suggestions? Thx

Many rims take 90 to 110 ft lbs so it's standard lug nut tight. An inexpensive torque wrench should do it. Turn the wheel so it is facing out to gain better access and leverage.
