What is this in the roof

1995 960 Sedan. These things are in the back of the roof inside near the back window.

What are they. I saw a video on YouTube where the prime minister of Sweden had a 960 with a shade in the back that clipped in there with a roller at the bottom, sort of like a reverse roll-up window shade. Is that the only purpose? Were those sold as optional accessories?

The rear window sunshade was electric on mine. It did not need any fastening. June

Those hold the headliner in, at least in part.

I was speculating that they might be part of the top tether of a LATCH type system for child car seats, but they don't look like any I've seen before.

They might be mounts to keep the headliner from sagging? Definitely not part of a child seat. June
