Does the problem occur when you shift from park to reverse or from drive-Neutral-reverse? If it happens from part to reverse look to see if you are parking on a grade and not using your parking brake. There may be difficulties shifting from park to reverse because there is too much load on the syncros to fully engage the reverse gear.

I usually park on a slight incline facing down and I tend to put my 850 in neutral then pull up the parking brake and then put the car in park because it is sometimes hard to put the car in reverse with the full weight of the car on the transmission.

Anyone else have any ideas?
