Loud click

Get loud click sometimes when hit pothole sounds like something hits windscreen. Can anyone advise or suggest.

Front sway bar end link? I had a loose fastener there and it made a loud click / pop at every bump.

Probably plasticcracking in the dash from broken mounts. Somewhat endemic to the P80 cars

Front damper mounts. Open bonnet, grab wing at the well, bounce up and down keeping your eyes on the damper mount. Check both sides.

Hi guys,
Are damper mounts the struts shocks not sure Will the Haynes manual clearify?

A Strut is a damper. You only have two on the car, they are on the front.

Front Damper mount = Strut Mount. The rubber/metal part that binds the top of the Strut to the body. When the rubber rips loose. The top of the Strut is floating and will produce a clunking noise expectedly, when you hit a pot hole. You can see the rip when you bounce the car up and down.

Damper can be a Shock or a Strut but, the terms Shock and Strut are not interchangeable. A Strut is a structural part of the suspension system, a shock is not.
