What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Real winter!

Not really. Just above freezing and drizzle so the snow was saturated with water.

Today I took the battery of the charge it's been on the last two days. It's been ages so I thought it was time for a top-up.

Replaced all motor mounts and torque mounts. The rear mount was a real pita.
Now i get a very slight vibration in gear at a stop. Thinking of replacing the strut bar to make it perfect since
that is the only part left.
Also ordered lift gate struts since the current ones are real weak and worried about it coming down and
shattering the rear window.

I replaced the factory purge valve along with some of the EVAP line by the IM. This is the second time I'm replacing the purge valve on this vehicle, 2004 XC70. Fortunately I purchased the first one from FCPEURO.COM, so replacements are covered for life.

Coolant flush on '06 V70 only to find out I was sent the wrong upper hose. I was going to replace thermostat housing, but I stripped T40's. Left t-stat
housing to head piece in place and transferred the t-start,gasket.temp sensor, and outer housing from new one. Worked out fine, killer heat. What a day!!!!

I took apart the rear Wiper assembly to find a bunch of water and real nasty grease.

Took a little while to get the big plastic gear out but I did, and cleaned up the metal disk behind it with a metal brush.

Reloaded with new grease and tested.

Now it seems to consistently stop (home position) on the left side of the window (which I suppose is not normal, can someone confirm)?

I don't remember the specifics but you can switch it over depending on how you reassemble it. Mine uses to park on the left but after I renovated it it parks on the right. I just adjusted the wiper arm position to fit.

I Tried. And looked like a fool to do that. I tested it on the right side, and instead of arcing up it went down and wiped my license plate.

And wierd thing is it used to park on the right side (if I shut off the switch at the right time).

There was a metal plate behind the plastic gear that drove the wiper linkage inside the enclosure.

Is it a vida option to change?

You have to take the arm off then let it run to it's parked location, check with a zip tie that it moves how you think it does then place the arm in the right place with the wiper motor in it's parked location. Done this way there's no risk or putting the wiper in the wrong place and the side it stops on doesn't really make a practical difference.

It's purely mechanical. All the car does is send a current to the wiper motor to start it. That starts it with one wipe then it's back to it's resting position unless it's still got current in which case it'll go again.
