Please check the plate on top of the transmission and report back.
I believe an 07 S80 with a 3.2 only came with the 6 speed TF80-SC in America. The level tube is in the center of the bottom drain and is to be measured only when the car is running and lifted on a level surface and the fluid is between 50 and 60 degrees Celius. The fluid spec is JWS 3309 -also called (Toyota IV). The Volvo fluid was not a synthetic in 2007.
I suggest replacing the o ring seal whenever removing the center or drain plug.

The first thing to come out is the small bolt item #2 in the picture, I use a Torx T45 to remove mine
-------------When you remove the bolt some of the transmission fluid will drain out
-------------The O-ring (item #1) will be attached to item #2
Next remove item #4 with a 17 mm Hex
-------------About 3 to 4 quarts will come out at this point.
To set the level do the following
0. Install item #1, #2, #3, #4
1. Fill the transmission with the amount of fluid drained out plus another 1/2 quart
2. Start the engine and shift thru the gears
3. allow the transmission to get warm
4. with the vehicle level remove item #2
This will drain out the fluid to the top of item # 4
5. re-install item #2 and #1
6. Shut off the engine
Note: if you remove #2 with the engine off then the level will be too low.
Take care

Hey, a free Rorscach test strip.
