Options to Vida/Dice?

So I'm a complete noob with Volvo diagnostics, is there a standalone diag computer that gives me the same or approximate functionality of Vida?

Just want to have a nice talk with all my systems in my 04 S80. Clear codes, reset maintenance counters, hunt gremlins, etc.

For checking codes, I also use Torque Pro on my Android phone. But you need Vida/Dice for most in depth work. I highly recommend getting it. I bought a Ali version, which works great.

By stand alone i assume you mean a self contained system. There are alternatives to Vida-Dice but they cost as much or more then Vida-Dice and not as useful.

You are not going to beat Vida-DiCE clones in terms of bang for the money. If portability is you main concern, you might consider Vida on a Windows 10 tablet and a DiCE unit. I have installed Vida on a 32bit Netbook with a Intel Atom processor and 2 GB of ram. It was slow but it did run. Nowaday you can get tablets with a lot more powerful processors then Intel Atom without breaking the bank.
