P80s Starting to get scarce at P&Ps

Just an observation, but P80s are getting thin on the ground at P&Ps.

Fewer and fewer each time I go back to Harry's in Hazelton, and frankly, there weren't a ton of P2s either.

Local P&P here
X40 0% (First generation S/V40) ( Volvo-Mitsubishi platform)
P80 30% (Volvo Platform)
P1 20% (Ford C1 platform)
P2 30% (Ford D3 platform)
P3 20% (Ford EUCD platform)
Did Volvo ever have a P4 platform?
P5 (SPA) 0% (Volvo Architecture)
P6 (CMA) 0% (Volvo-Gleely Architecture)

Totally unscientific, but yesterday I saw a bunch of P2 S60s, One P2 XC70, a couple P2 V70s, a 740 sedan, an 850 sedan and a couple P80 V70s. The Volvo online inventory listing was three pages, not filling the third. I am used to seeing 5-6 pages of Volvo inventory listings.

I am sensing a transition point here. We are getting into the "enthusiast vehicle" zone as opposed to guys who don't want to spend a lot and still drive a nice car.

The S60s were far and away most common.

I would agree with your statement. And for that matter, you don't see many P80's on the roads either.

I saw 2 in the local u-pick yard about a week ago, including a red 850 with the 5 speed. That one about made me cry..

People are keeping car longer because during the financial crisis of 2007–08 the Automotive manufactures cut production. That translates to a shortage of used car today and higher used cars prices.

It’s sad because once the VIN hits the junkyard , in many states, it can’t come out again. I thin k this has to do with the license of a junkyard not being retail vehicle sales, so it’s a one way trip.

I hope someone harvests all the MT parts though.
