CD changer

Post by carlos »

I drive a 98 S70 and it has a radio with casset but no cd changer. I was thinking of purchasing one. The radio has a cd changer button and I was wondering if the car is prewired for a cd changer. If so where are plug-ins? Thanks in advance.

Carlos,
You may want to check out http://au.geocities.com/ozbrick850/cdch ... stall.html
Hope this is of some help. This web site has a ton of info on the 850 models. I realize you have a S70 model, but I think the 850 and S70 are similar.
I seem to remember someone asking your same question a while back, or I could have seen it on another board.
Good Luck

Carlos.....DO NOT BUY A VOLVO FACTORY CD CHANGER!!!!!!!! It will cost you steep and it is good for nothing but you Volvo. If you ever trade for another make than Volvo, you will just be giving them a cd changer. Alpind cd changer are 100% compatible with Volvo. All that is needed is a simple adapter to make it work. The adapter cost $40 or so. Go to an Alpine dealer and inquire about this. If he doesn't know, search out another. It is worth the research because you can get an Alpine for about half the price of a Volvo factory cd changer.
