We recovered a v70 with a head gasket problem to my driveway and it will live again.

Symptoms, loss of coolant from hose chafe, upper radiator hose
Little compression in 1,2,4,5
150 psi in 3

Timing belt intact

Temps soared to 38F so I did all the upper cylinder head disconnects, deep great, and popped off the four exhaust manifold bolts...zip zip zip zip by Bosch.

Air cleaner and fuel injection rail off

Rear engine mount off

One thermostat bolt head stripped out. Since head is coming off, that will be easy to remove on bench.

My garage clears on Feb 17, hope to finish shortly thereafter.

Well, 31F and cold rain, with car stuck outside until FEB17

I think I am going to call HR and take mechanic vacation day this weekend.

Car is in the beautiful Silver Sand Metallic and Charcoal interior.

Technically it should be the Green Mountain Project, but the family knows why its Orange...

Well, I am a glutton for punishment - instead of lunch I:

Got the heat shield, water pipe, and TB off, and slackened the top cover bolts in prep for removal.

Cold, wet, and wind got me after an hour though. Buttoned up

Dropped one 3 inch extension bar somewhere into engine.

My sharpie froze, so I add to notes here.

2 M8 sheild Nuts
2 M6 water pipe bolt
1 M6 ground strap bolt
