On a '98 V70:
1. Lift rear of car.
2. Install Jack Stands.
3. Crawl under right ( passenger ) side.
4. look up.
The EVAP canister is shaped like a brick.

Your chances of releasing the Evap container with the red circle are nil, like a MAN CITY comeback
But, you can release the two green bolts ( support muffler) and then bend the canister frame down on the blue axis very easily.

I think my car has that too. Doesnt make sense though.
I am not exactly sure how to troubleshoot the EVAP system. Hoses all over the place?
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.
