Does any body know why this clip is red and looks like it’s an important SRS component? It is listed as a retainer in a sandwich of tabs for roof trim and b pillar trim. It looks kind of important being all red and in your face.
I’m thinking it’s for the panel parts to break free when the pressure comes on the belt when the tensioners fire - anyone seen one after an accident ?
I started playing in this area when I discovered a seat belt unclicked and under pressure from my ‘relaxed posture’ can be retracted back with enough force to break a door lock knob.

I don't know, I've always kind of wondered about why that's red. It might just be a coincidence.

There is something similar in the side of the seat near the end of the belt. The one in the seat is a safety pin, you are supposed to set it when working on the side of the seat. It prevents one from setting off the SRS Pyrotechnical.

Yes, that’s something you always want to make sure you put in place while working with the control panel off. You wouldn’t want to accidentally kick that trigger!

Jacked the front and tested the wheel for play. I was looking for play in the hubs, but they didn't have any at 6&12. However they did have about 1/2 inch play at 9&3 with a solid/audible clunk at the 'end' of each play.

I just replaced the inner and outer tie rod ends 1 month ago, does anyone have suggestions for what this could be? What to check next?
