Recent thread - FWD cars have different driveshafts and hubs, and of course, go to the M8 14 mm hex bolt instead of the 36 mm axle socket.

The hub bolt is TTY and must be replaced each time. ABS errors will result if you don't.

Brake booster change in MY 1999

Argh.

1999- takes the 9485170 so I’ll have to find my 1999 stash

-1998 shows 9438037 , no longer available

1993-1998 9438036 no longer available

Mattymoo lists different part numbers for the ABS module.

I measure master cylinder ports of

Front 13mm

Rear 13mm

on my 1999 with STC and MT

Brake master cylinders on these cars are 1999 2000 MY only

1999 uses a P2 harmonic balancer with the roll pin more offset to one of the Mount holes

The NA 1999 have been found with the earlier 1998 harmonic balancer

The replacement part from Volvo comes with both roll pin holes so it is universal.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't considered condensing and printing out all of the info in this thread so I'd have a 'manual' stashed in the glove; The Falcon is smack in the middle of the Bastards manufacturing point (M/Y '99, Mfg Oct '98) and without some of these tips I'd never have figured out which part I needed, or at the least spent way more time and $$$ than I needed to and a LOT more cussing...

Many of these I dealt with, or Steve chimed in before the wrong part, so Im with you. The harmonic balancer note is the outcome of me trying three different parts from FCP.
