2005 Volvo S60 Transmission Problem

Just wanted to follow up, since things have changed.
The Volvo Specialists told me that the transmission fluid level was too high and that it was leaking from one axle.
While I was waiting for a garage to repair it, the error stopped occurring. Everything seems good now. Will have the leak fixed next week and have the guys take a look at the fluid level some other things that showed up (that I will ask in another thread).

Overfilled transmission fluid foams, density drops, pressure drops, transmission shifts incorrectly, plates burn.

Same overfill pressure problem applies to engine oil.

Obviously, my car now has a PO780 error code that refers to Transmission Shift Malfunction, a shift solenoid malfunction.
I am still looking for a decent tranny repair shop close to me, wasn't even able to get a second opinion. But I'll have the shop around my corner drain and refill to recommended levels.

Here is my question in case the more expensive repairs are recommendable (like valve body replacement or tranny replacement):
Obviously, there is a need to reprogram the transmission after repair or swap.
Who can do that, what's the cost, and does the car have to be towed to a repair shop who can do it?

I did a full flush with this on the 03 S80 T6 last year after installing a shift kit and it is still running very good.
