That's great LaRy...only problem is that the evaporator is very difficult to get to. Do you have a reference to the site you speak of? I'd like to get a look at some pictures if they are posted as to how to do this.

The do not show any pictures about this in the volvo-forum. According to the information this sensor is easy to reach. You reach the sensor form outside of the evaporator. You do not have to open the unit, just take away the panels so you can get access to the left side of the house for the evaporator. You find the sensor in upper corner, twist it and take it out.
The origin information is in Swedish, so I don't think it will help you to much.
A straight translation from Swedish would say that this is the "evaporator temperature sensor" placed in the CCM module.
The problem is that when this sensor is broken the regulator for the system get wrong information. A broken sensor is normally giving false information that the temperature in the fan house is 110 - 120 degrees F. Then the regulator is running the compressor at 100% capacity and the evaporator will freeze to ice. The air can not pass the ice, that's the reason why you don't get any air flow.
The temperature sensor value can be checked also by the diagnostic tool called VIDA.

I have not done the job myself, but I will try to translate exactly what they say abot where to find it:

Thank you all this is wonderful information, think we may of been taken by dealer but still only cost us $75.00 warrenty money, it would make sense that the sensor on EVP was faulty. New parts seen not as cold, we need cold here in Florida.
