I've been using the SEM ColorCoat stuff. I used the "Graphite" color on these.

Volvo leather dye by Volvo interior code. Takes the guess work out. Anybody wanting to go Atacama?

Engine's out of the V70! Just waiting on some parts now. 2 of the engine mounts are TOTALLY shot.

Over a couple days, probably 8-10 hours of actual labor. I would probably handle that by removing the engine and transmission as a whole like I did here, this seems to be easier than dropping the trans from underneath. Then again, P1s may be easier that way.

Well, I guess I won't drive it over to Charlotte for you to work in it

. I did find a video on this and the preferred method is too drop it from underneath. Thanks, perhaps my son and I will tackle it when it's time. Getting there however.

Mo....get the 150 buck picker from Harbor freight and take it up and out.

Ive done both now and engine transmission out seems harder, but it isn’t

Our esteemed Professor or Potatoes tried to tell me this once but I was tone deaf and stupid

Agreed... engine and trans out the top is by FAR the easiest way I've done it. I've pulled the transmission from underneath twice, pulled just the engine once, and pulled the engine and trans together twice now.

That said, the reason I mentioned it before is that I'm not sure if the P1 has the clearance from up top. If so, it's a pretty easy job doing the clutch. It's not particularly hard to get the transmission out of the bottom, but it's a bit of a pain lifting it up and down.

You have to add all the subframe removal steps to lower it down , and those steps can really bite you hard. Snapping off the subframe bolts being a leading example

That's always a possibility too. Fortunately I don't deal with a lot of rusty cars, and I haven't had an issue with snapping a subframe bolt yet.
