Sorry, I didn't mean to yell at you.
I've become frustrated with the spelling and grammar on ALL volvo boards not just here and I was having a bad day.
All I was saying is "a lot" is 2 words not alot.
Everyone seems to be writing this lately, even educated people, thus it has become a very bad habit and it drives me nuts

JRL, I know exactly what you mean. There are several words that have been mispronounced a lot lately by people in the news and supposedly educated people who should know better. I can't recall them right off the top of my head, but it really gripes me sometimes too! We just have to remember to chillax sometimes!

From YOUR links..

forte fort The word is spelled 'forte' but the E is pronounced only when speaking of music, as a forte passage "loud passage". The words for a strong point and a stronghold are pronounced the same: [fort].

...and of course...

a lot
Two words! Hopefully, you won't have to allot a lot of time to this problem

As much as I agree with everyone about the English language and misuse of it, this thread is for steering problems, so back on topic everyone!

Thanks for all the advice, it feels a little better after the lucas steering leak fix. But driving it this morning with the all the rain and melting slush a I had a couple of scary moments fighting the steering wheel and car didn't want to stay with me. I think I'll print out all this advice and show my mechanic. I have 2 axles I need to get put in anyway so hopefully I can avoid putting in a steering rack, we'll see. I'll also try to watch myself with "alot" cause I'm also guilty of that. Thanks again!

i could be the sway-bar bushings, where the bar attaches to the frame, have gone south. maybe even the strut mounts and/or spring seats as well.

[Edited. I won't tolerate idiotic spelling arguments here.
