These tables show all available US states and territories and the COVID-19 data for the last 5 days. I have sorted the states alphabetically and added growth rates for last several days for all states with ranking of each day. Of course, this information changes daily. I have presented the table in two parts because of the screen shot, but it is actually one table in Excel.

Again, results change daily.
State growth rates for April 7, 2020.

For your information, the top 5 states yesterday in growth rate (the worst containment) are Georgia, Kentucky, Delaware, West Virginia, and New Mexico. Highest growth rate was Georgia at 0.26

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.099 for yesterday, up from previous day of 0.098.
There are now 30 states with infection growth rate below 0.10.

Stay safe out there.

Speaking of charts, I suggest diving into Edward Tufte, if you have time on your hands ;-)

https://www.edwardtufte.com/tufte/

He's famous for his analysis of things like o-ring failure rate on the Morton-Thiokol boosters on the Challenger disaster, Napoleon's march to Moscow and attrition, and this:

Dick Feynman (May 11, 1918 – February 15, 1988), who was an appointed member on Rogers Commission, would object:

"As Feynman explained, because the O-rings cannot expand in 32 degree weather, the gas finds gaps in the joints, which led to the explosion of the booster and then the shuttle itself."

I have seen Tufte's work elsewhere. Amazing detail and presentation.

Van was in regards to Feynman's van, which was parked in his driveway in Altadena, CA when I visited with him at his home a year or so before his death.

I never got to meet Feynmann, but I will raise your impressive boast, or at least call it, with meeting Bethe several times - and answering a question of his in a seminar.

State growth rates for April 8, 2020.

For your information, the top 5 states yesterday in growth rate (the worst containment) are South Dakota, Maryland, District of Columbia, Kentucky, and Delaware. In the last five days, South Dakota, DofC, and Kentucky have made the top 5 list twice. Delaware has made top 5 list four times in five days. Only South Dakota has fewer than 1000 cases.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.087 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.099.

Stay safe out there.
