What typically (for me) happens with the window runners is there is a bracket and screw or rivet near the bottom of the rear window runner. These rust and break allowing the window to move wonky.
If you remove the inner door panel you should be able to confirm this. I believe a new runner is available as recently as 2 years ago from Volvo and wasn't to stupid a price. If I recall the newer version is rivet only for the lower mount. The older version (NLA) was designed for a screw mount. You can use wither variant.
While it was fiddly, and requiring a little force, it was possible to replace the guide without removing the window.
Neil.

I think you're spot on, as the leftside rail is kinda wobbly as the bottom rivet seems to be loose. The plastic rail clip/guide also seems to be broken, so I'll fix that first, but it could very well be caused by that loose rail.scot850 wrote: ↑03 May 2020, 10:58 What typically (for me) happens with the window runners is there is a bracket and screw or rivet near the bottom of the rear window runner. I had to replace my guide, and now I have issues with the window being very slow when moving in that guide. Any ideas?
As for what I've done today, given I've still not been able to remove the studs from my lower thermostat housing, I had to pull my power steering pump and reservoir to get access to the housing. Pain in the arse, as ECU housing bolt is seized so couldn't remove that; removing the 3x 12mms through the pulley was interesting.

When you have access to look at the regulator, confirm the flat metal arms are not bent. They are not stiff enough o last forever. Dorman Products has a reasonable priced replacement without buying the motor.

After months of effort, I have a Smart car sized space in my back shop. I moved the Smart car there and made a full sized car space in my garage. Finally, I can work on cars inside again. First up is '83 240 wagon.
Today I tried to loosen the exhaust pipe flange on '83 245. I need to replace the gasket. I gave it two shots of penetrating oil and left it to soak over night. I also polished the weathered rear lens with plastic headlight polish.

Them Texans like to take their bulls with them. And a V70 has more room than a Cadillac.

Filled the system with refrigerant, blowing nice and cold!smacknab wrote: ↑02 May 2020, 14:03 Pulled the dash for the first time to refresh the AC system
-new evaporator, accumulator, condensor and a used Valeo compressor

-new o-rings all around
-cut out, cleaned and bleached a section of floorboard foam that was soaked in coolant
-used a ton of two-part epoxy to fix up the dash tabs. (The car has never been so quiet!)
On Monday the vacuum pump comes in so I can check my work and have cold air again!
This all took about 3 days taking it slow and getting hung up. Big thanks again to Uncle Steve aka Abscate for the hand holding

Today, with electric impact and more penetrating oil, I removed the exhaust pipe on '83 245 and replaced the gasket. No broken bolts! Used Never Seize on the threads before reassembly.
