2015 S60 T5 - 4 cylinder

71K miles, Was heading out to my sons college to pick him up, filled up the tank, got about 60 miles and the CEL came on, starting blinking, pulled over. Called tow truck, got to the dealer, dealer diagnosed P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 and P0304 codes.

The pulled the plugs in cyl 4 and 1 and they said they were extremely worn. cleared codes ran vehicle again. mis-fire returned. switched coils around and mis-fire continued. They performed a compression test, cyl-1=120, cyl-2=120, cyl-3=120 and cyl-4=70.

They recommended removing the cylinder head to further investigate.

I declined the recommendation for the time being, while i research. I replaced the plugs with OEM plugs from Volvo. I can't find the cylinder layout, is it 1 to 4 from right to left?

It feel like the car is starving for fuel. I check plugs they are all sparking.

I am thinking of a used motor, however I'm looking for assistance from this forum. Has anyone has success with used motors and if so can you recommend a seller?

I confirmed a compression test - cyc 4 = 20Lbs - could this be a stuck valve or a burnt valve.

Cylinder #1 is closest to the timing belt. From there it is 1, 2, 3, 4.

You think you have a lean misfire on all cylinders ... Air leaks or low fuel pressure.

I would get cylinder #4 to Top Dead center on the compression stroke. Then flood it with Seafoam and let it soak. It could be as simple as carbon sticking a valve or rings.

I did not try the seafoam, instead i pushed forward in removing the head, however now I am stuck at setting the timing. this 2.0l e-drive engine had no timing marks that I can see on the timing cover. I've attached several photo's of which i was able to locate the timing mark on the cam wheel and the crank. this is a 2.0L turbo. I'm being told from Volvo there is no TDC pin to use to lock the crank and I looked and I cannot find one. I need to remove the head so I can replace the valves and seals - all of them. let me know your thoughts, thanks so much, seems like this little engine has very little out there.

I can't find any marks on the timing cover unless I am missing them.

That is not a Volvo Modular Engine (VME). It is the next generation after VME, Volvo Engine Architecture (VEA).

The camshaft alignment marks are on the rear of the camshafts. The VVTs are preloaded and aligned using tool 9997497.

1. Align the crankshaft to the block.
2. Align the camshafts to the cylinder head at the rear.
3. Align and preload the VVTs to the camshafts.
4. Install timing belt.

Thanks, once I have the tool, I can align the Crank to the mark on the block, since I can see that mark.
how do I align the cams since I have no mark to align too that I can see?
