Repacing sunroof motor

I live in Portland and own a 2001 s60 and my sunroof was stuck open and of course it started raining hard I wached Robert DYI, and found out you takesunroof motor out you can close your window manually, Now I have a new motor and Can't get it to install, do I need to take the headliner off to install it correctly? Or is there an easier way?
